Engraved port. of Verien; here unsigned, though in the ed. of 1696 it is signed by Gerard Edelinck after Jean Jouvenet. Main t.p., dedication to Le Dauphin, sectional titles for Livres 1-3 engraved

In Livre 1, each leaf bears 15 etched emblems on verso and letterpress description of preceding plate on recto (save leaves V [text only] and VI [emblems only]; texts for LIV and LVI reversed in printing). In Livre 2 additional emblems separate sections of monograms that begin with a given letter

Two leaves of errata follow leaf LXIII

Binding: modern marbled paper, backed in brown goatskin. Page edges in part retain red stain from a previous binding

Theodore Besterman's calligraphic label, signed P.S. Nineteenth-century bookplate for "Grollier et ses amis."
